My name is Amberlei, and I am "Gold + Salt". I joined the military at the age of 18 and have just retired (TODAY) with 20 years of Active Duty service. I am finally getting to pursue my lifelong passion of photography full-time and I'm so excited for the next phases of life. My photography goals and aspirations kicked in when I was stationed in Key West, Florida at the tender age of 18. I bought my first DSLR, began taking photography classes (film), and took on mentors like it was my job. Over time I developed my skill through professional trainings, workshops, mentors, self education, and eventually my own photo shoots. It was an honor to serve our nation however being under the military thumb for 20 years (24/7) is a challenging experience. I am grateful for the lessons learned however it is now time to follow my heart in a new direction. Now that's where I've been, let's talk about where I'm going! I am making my own rules. I am going "wild". I am pushing my boundaries creatively and I am so excited to be on this new journey as a Destination Wedding Photographer with the option of traveling for photography. Previously I could only shoot locally - now without the chains of the military - I can break out that Passport and travel to brides everywhere they need me. I hope you'll follow my story and help recommend me to brides across the world as I kick-start my official voyage of being a Destination Wedding Photographer with global availability. This year alone I'll be shooting in Arizona, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, New York, Arizona, California, and Georgia! Cheers to taking a leap of faith! XOXO
